Just a Simple - Yes, I'm still here.

I don't have time to post any pictures this time but just wanted to let those of you who read my blog that I'm still here and check yours.   I can't seem to get enough minutes in my day to cram anything else in......

I am on vacation this week and watching Karley and Colton.  Jennifer usually watches them but she and Scott are also on vacation and doing some special activities with their kids.  I have enjoyed this week so much.  No work..no office...no stress...just playtime with Karley and Colton and they have been a joy.  I took them out for lunch one day and they were so good.

We attended the Beaver Family Reunion (my Granny Cremeens' family) last Sunday.  Quite a day!  By attending family gatherings I get to visit with family that I never see except for the reunion each year and also local family that are as busy as I am and we just don't see one another very often.  Even though it takes time out of a busy schedule to prepare and attend these functions, I believe it is an important part of life.  So many times we let lack of time, our feelings and many other things rob us from just getting with people that are a part of us through a family line - we have friends, both casual and close, but we have ties through our heritage that good or bad they are our family.  I think we all had a good time.

That's enough for now - will try to blog again sooner rather than later... :-)

It's Been a While

Whew.....It's been nearly a month since I last posted.  My favorite excuse is "the tyranny of the urgent".  This is the title of a book that I read several years ago and it has stuck with me to describe my day to day existence.  I get too much on my plate and then never get anything done.

This past weekend was such a joy for the family.  Scott's ordination took place this weekend.  He is such a blessing to our family and is the "best thing that has happened to Jennifer" with the addition of those two little munchkins.  I posted a few pictures below.

We also enjoyed visiting with Greg for a few hours.  Busy schedules on both sides keep us from seeing one another very often so we appreciate those times we do get to visit.  However, we missed the rest of his family....and by the way Happy Birthday Lauren.  It's hard to believe that you are 19 years old.  Jennifer and I reminisced with Greg at lunch on Saturday about taking care of Lauren and Nathaniel when Micah was born and Lauren peeking around the corner at Jennifer saying "I don't like you" because she was mad that Jennifer was making her let Jen comb her hair which was always hard with all those curls. :-)

I will do my best not to wait so long to post.  I still read everyone else's but just don't take the time to post or respond to other's posts.  I enjoy keeping up with everyone.

Ben and Anna Kate "camped out" at Nana's on Friday night to give Daddy and Mommy a relaxing evening and night before going to the questioning on Saturday morning.  However, Nana let them stay up too late and they were so tired at the end of the weekend....but we did have a great time!!!!

This is at the beginning of the three hour questioning session on Saturday morning.  Scott did a great job.  The Lord has blessed him so much with wisdom and discernment and it was a blessing to hear him answer.

This is Scott with his Ordination Board who questioned him for three hours on Saturday morning.  His grandfather is the second from the left and his Dad is standing directly to Scott's right.  I'm sure a few of you recognize the fella second from the right.

This is not a very good picture since it is blurred.  But...this is Scott speaking at the beginning of his ordination service on Sunday evening (9/7).
