It's Been a While

Whew.....It's been nearly a month since I last posted.  My favorite excuse is "the tyranny of the urgent".  This is the title of a book that I read several years ago and it has stuck with me to describe my day to day existence.  I get too much on my plate and then never get anything done.

This past weekend was such a joy for the family.  Scott's ordination took place this weekend.  He is such a blessing to our family and is the "best thing that has happened to Jennifer" with the addition of those two little munchkins.  I posted a few pictures below.

We also enjoyed visiting with Greg for a few hours.  Busy schedules on both sides keep us from seeing one another very often so we appreciate those times we do get to visit.  However, we missed the rest of his family....and by the way Happy Birthday Lauren.  It's hard to believe that you are 19 years old.  Jennifer and I reminisced with Greg at lunch on Saturday about taking care of Lauren and Nathaniel when Micah was born and Lauren peeking around the corner at Jennifer saying "I don't like you" because she was mad that Jennifer was making her let Jen comb her hair which was always hard with all those curls. :-)

I will do my best not to wait so long to post.  I still read everyone else's but just don't take the time to post or respond to other's posts.  I enjoy keeping up with everyone.

Ben and Anna Kate "camped out" at Nana's on Friday night to give Daddy and Mommy a relaxing evening and night before going to the questioning on Saturday morning.  However, Nana let them stay up too late and they were so tired at the end of the weekend....but we did have a great time!!!!

This is at the beginning of the three hour questioning session on Saturday morning.  Scott did a great job.  The Lord has blessed him so much with wisdom and discernment and it was a blessing to hear him answer.

This is Scott with his Ordination Board who questioned him for three hours on Saturday morning.  His grandfather is the second from the left and his Dad is standing directly to Scott's right.  I'm sure a few of you recognize the fella second from the right.

This is not a very good picture since it is blurred.  But...this is Scott speaking at the beginning of his ordination service on Sunday evening (9/7).

Scott is the best thing that has happened to a lot of us. :) We had a speaker from Tri-State a couple weeks ago who said that we had been blessed to have had him there for 5 years--to that I said "Amen". Then last night when Ralph asked for "Praises"--I said that I praised God for his blessing of the Duncans for the 5 years we were allowed to have them here. I love that whole family so much.

Thanks so much for posting pictures--I wish we could have been there on Sunday night, but responsibilities here won't allow that right now. :(

By the way, the sleeping babies picture is adorable! Love those kids!!!!

God certainly blessed you with a great daughter, son-in-love and beautiful grandkids too, huh?

Well, I must say that my husband is not only smart but he sure is handsome too... :-) I personally tell him all the time I'm not quite sure how I ended up with him. I'm thankful God didn't allow me to walk out of the hospital with the surgeon I went looking for.

Thanks so much for the pictures. It was good to see the weekend that way since we couldn't be there. I also didn't know that Lauren didn't "like" Jennifer! I don't remember much from that time period. I'm sure she has changed her mind since!

I know what you mean about too much on your plate. (I don't think Grandma's are meant to have full time jobs!) Time is just spinning by me out of control. (I must be getting old!!)
